Why fishslapping???

Why did I choose fishslapping as the domain name?

Well, at one time these pages were going to be called "GIRTH", in honour of James' (the large one) legendary size. The problem came in finding a domain name that was available - and internet searches for "girth" tended to return a lot of porn! (James must be well known).

So I started to think of other domain names, and search to see if they were free. Unfortunately I did not have any assistance in this - everyone's creativity seemed to have gone on strike. Maybe I should have invited everyone over for lots of beer, then thought about a name. There again, maybe it is just as well that I did not.

Eventually I settled on "fishslapping" because the Fish Slapping Dance is one of my favourite Python sketches. The name fitted the bill in terms of being memorable too! So there you go, not a wildly exciting story, but enough people have asked me "Why fishslapping???" that I thought I had better answer them.
